Croatia: Overall Summary
Updated: 07.02.2019
In Croatia, electricity from renewable sources is promoted through a premium tariff and a guaranteed feed-in tariff (for installations of less than 500 kW) allocated through tenders. So far no tenders have been organised due to the delays in adopting the necessary secondary legislation. Preferential loans and subsidies for renewable energy projects are also provided. Renewable energy sources for heating purposes only are not promoted at national level.
The access of electricity from RES to the grid is regulated by the general legislation on energy and RES installations are given priority. Electricity from RES is subject to special provisions only in case of wind power plants.
A training programme for RES installers aims at promoting the development, installation and usage of RES plant in the electricity and heating sector.
