Programme for Large Thermal Plants (GIT)– Funding for large thermal plants in buildings supplied from renewable sources

Updated: 06.02.2019

Author: Moira Jimeno

The launching of this funding programme responded to the need of promoting the installation of large thermal plants in buildings that use renewable energy sources, e.g. biomass, solar and geothermal. The financial line is intended for projects that due to their large size and complexity, have been out of the limits set in the call of the BIOMCASA, SOLCASA and GEOTCASA programmes. IDAE has provided a total budget of € 17 million to finance the projects, which are submitted by the ESEs (Energy Service Companies). The GIT programme has financed up to 80% of the project investment with a maximum cap of € 3 million per project (starting from € 250,000 for SOLCASA GIT projects and from € 350,000 for BIOMCASA and GEOTCASA GIT projects). The budget of the GIT programme has been exhausted (as of October 2017).
