Purpose

This Regulation defines the content and other elements of the power purchase agreement concluded between the guaranteed supplier and the renewable energy power producer.

Relevance for renewable energy

The Regulation specifies legal terms under which renewable energy power producers sell the electricity to the guaranteed supplier. According to the Model of the Power Purchase Agreement, the balancing responsibility and balancing costs are borne by the guaranteed supplier (Art. 5). Furthermore, the renewable energy power producer is legally protected from any natural and political force majeure, which can cause interruptions in the operation of the plant (Art. 27, 28 and 29).
