Subsidy (Financing PV installations)

The prosumer concept was introduced in the country’s renewable energy Law no. 220/2008 by the Law no. 184/2018 in July 2018. Currently, the Environment Administration Fund is working towards lunching a new support scheme for small PV installations. On the 14 of December 2018, the “Financing guide for the installation of photovoltaic systems for the production of electricity in order to cover the houshold’s consumtion needs and sell surplus to the national grid” was approved by the Order No. 1287/2018. According to the published guide, the housholds will be able to receive irredeemable financing that would cover up to 90% of the total value of the PV system. The financing shall not exceed RON 20 000 (approx. € 4,300). 

Eligible technologies

Rooftop as well as ground-mounted PV systems with a minium capacity of 3kW are eligible for financing.

Procedure

Process flow

Application: The applicant submits the application indicating all relevant costs as well as technical specifications of the PV system

Verification: The application will be verified and checked wether all the technical requirements are met. If the project fulfils the requirements it will be granted the money.
