The feed-in premium is available for unused electricity from biogas and hydropower installations above 500 kW and below 1 MW (RES-Act, Art. 70a.2)). The premium serves to equalise negative balance incurred by the electricity generator if the price for unused electricity is lower than in the approved declaration.

Biogas

Eligible for a guaranteed FiP above 500 kW and below 1 MW under RES-Act, Art. 70a.2

  • agricultural biogas
  • municipal waste biogas 
  • sewage sludge biogas
  • other types of biogas

Hydro-power

Eligible for a guaranteed FiP above 500 kW and below 1 MW under RES-Act, Art. 70a.2

Amount

The premium serves to equalise negative balance (RES-Act, Art. 70a.3)), pursuant to RES-Act, Art. 93.2.3).

Procedure

Process flow

In order to sell unused electricity pursuant to RES-Act, Art. 70a.2), the electricity generator submits a declaration of intent of sale of unused electricity at a fixed purchase price determined in accordance with Art. 70e to the President of the Energy Regulatory Office. The declaration is to be submitted online (RES-Act, Art. 70b.1) & 2)).
