Support schemes
The main incentive for renewable energy use in transport is a quota system. This scheme obliges companies importing or producing petrol, gas or diesel fuels to ensure that biofuels make up a defined percentage of the company’s total annual fuel sales. Furthermore, biofuels are supported through tax incentives. Moreover selling of biogas for transport purposes is supported though a direct premium tariff.
