Renewable energy policy database and support

In general, all renewable electricity generation technologies are eligible for support.

Brussels

The systems of green certificates and of net-metering (only for installations ≤ 5kW) promote all renewable electricity generation technologies. As far as the energy subsidies for industrial and service sector buildings are concerned, all technologies can be subsidised provided that they are not eligible for other energy subsidies.

Flanders

In general, all renewable electricity generation technologies are eligible for support in the framework of the quota system. Regarding the subsidy, eligible technologies are set out in the technology list (LTL).

Wallonia

The systems of green certificates and of net-metering promote all renewable electricity generation technologies. Moreover, the subsidies of the Walloon region promote the use of biogas and biomass CHP plants, solar energy, hydro-power as well as wind power plants.
