In September 2013, the Brussels-Capital region agreed on an Air and Climate Energy Plan (plan Air Climate Energy - PACE), which foresees the introduction of promoting measures for energy efficiency addressing all types of buildings and mainly consisting of subsidies as well as call for proposals. Among others, the plan aims at promoting the energy refurbishment of public buildings through the introduction of a fund for the renovation of public buildings. The plan was adopted in second reading on 2 April 2015 and was submitted for public inquiry between 25 May and 31 July 2015. The 2 of June 2016, it was signed by the Government of Brussels-Capital.
