In Turkey, renewable electricity production is mainly promoted through a guaranteed feed-in tariff. The connection to the grid occurs through a bidding procedure. The available connection regions and points are published by the Turkish Transmission System Operator (TEIAS). Additionally, the General Directorate of Renewable Energy (GDRE) defines renewable energy zones (YEKA) with organised grid connection and land permits, where the feed-in tariff and contracting company is determined by a tender system.
