RES-H building obligations

As of 31 December 2014, all new buildings and existing buildings subject to major renovation have to meet the renewable energy requirements for buildings. Compliance with these requirements may also be achieved by using district heating and cooling energy which was largely generated from renewable energy sources. These requirements as well as a defined implementation process shall be met by the government and its authorised institutions. Measures for the increased use of renewable energy in buildings shall be included in municipal action plans for renewable energy sources (Chapter X Art. 50 Law on Energy from Renewable Sources).

Property managers (Chapter X Art. 50 Law on Energy from Renewable Sources).

Competent authority

The government and its authorised institutions prepare and implement measures to enhance all forms of renewable energy use in buildings (Chapter X Art. 50 Law on Energy from Renewable Sources).
