Subsidy V (Investment subsidy for PV installations in the agricultural and forestry sector)

PV installations between 5-50 kWp in the agricultural and forestry sector are eligible for investment subsidies from the Austrian Climate and Energy Fund. Funds are available for rooftop, building integrated or even ground-mounted systems (if they cannot be used for agricultural purposes or are not considered as naturally sensitive areas). The promotion budget is only granted for new projects or plant expansions and can be claimed by agricultural facilities with a valid company number only (p. 3). The overall budget amounts up to € 3.7 million, including the budget of the Austrian rural development funds which is € 1.7 million (p. 9). 

Eligible technologies

The capacity of the PV installation shall be 5-50 kWp, whereas the amount of the investment subsidy is € 275 per kWp for rooftop and ground-mounted systems and € 375 per kWp for building-integrated systems. (p. 3 AF Subsidy Guidelines). The tendering period starts 29 May 2018 and ends 30 November 2019 (p. 9 AF Subsidy Guidelines).

Amount

  • € 275 per kWp for roof-top or ground-mounted installations
  • € 375 per kWp for building integrated installations (p. 3 AF Subsidy Guidelines).
The amount granted shall not exceed 40% of the net investment costs (p. 3 AF Subsidy Guidelines)

Addressees

Entitled party: Subsidies can be claimed by facilities and companies in the agricultural and forestry sector with a valid company number (p.3 AF Subsidy Guidelines 2017). 

Procedure

Process flow

1. Preparation of documents. The funding application has to be submitted electronically. As a first step, a technical description (or an informative offer) and the counting point number are requested.

2. Application form. The application form is to be found on the webpage of the competent settlement agency (Kommunalkredit Public Consulting, KPC). The data requested have to be given and data have to be uploaded accordingly. After having submitted the application, the applicant receives a confirmation e-mail with the acknowledged date of receipt. However, this is not considered as a funding approval.

3. Assessment. After submission of the application, the project is assessed by the steering committee of the Climate and Energy Funds. After the approval procedure, the applicant of a successful project will receive a funding agreement.

4. Submission of the final accounting. Once the billing information is complete has been received by the KPC, the amount granted will be paid out (p. 10 AF Subsidy Guidelines)
